The South West & West Coasts of Ireland are incredibly special places.  Rich in history and wild in spirit and coastline.  There are many off shore islands to explore with stunning scenery, caves, cliffs, small harbours and ancient history and even the occasional Irish Pub. This stunning part of Ireland will more than likely capture a piece of your soul.   The West Coast is exposed to the wild Atlantic Ocean and its dramatic swells.  Paddling in these conditions or taking advantage of the calmer inshore waters which provide a sanctuary in stronger winds with beautiful bays and beaches.   Always on the look-out for wildlife encounters, we have seen Orca, Minke whales, porpoises, dolphins, sun fish and an abundance of birdlife along this coastline.  We can never guarantee any sightings of course!    There is an abundance of wild camping on the islands and if we are lucky we’ll find some drift wood for a memorable camp fire. We aim to provide you with an Unforgettable Experience.  There will be plenty of opportunities to improve and practice your navigation skills, on and off the water.  We will try to circumnavigate some islands we cross to and try and have time to explore the islands by foot as well.

This expedition is expected to be a wild camping journey and will allow for at least 5 days of paddling, as a general guide Sunday will be paddle day one.   We will be self-contained, camping from our kayaks for the week.  Although there may be the occasional option for eating out, you should bring sufficient provisions with you for 6 nights, bearing in mind living outdoors and spending full days on the water can increase your appetite.  It is always a good idea to have a plentiful supply of snacks, so you don’t go hungry!

The weather will dictate our final location and destinations and bad weather options of day trips may be an alternative option.
