We don’t advertise BCU 2 star trainings or assessments in the calendar. However if you are a club or a group of friends who want to arrange a BCU 2 Star course with Tidal Waters we will book the relevant training / assessment course at a time that is suitable for you. If this includes training it can be over either a period of days or a one day assessment. The BCU 2 star award is a generic mutli discipline award and will include time in canoes as well as kayaks.
Our 2 star courses are run in sheltered waters, either in Holyhead Bay, which is where Tidal Waters HQ base is, or local areas where you will be in sheltered water environment.
Minimum numbers are 4 on a 2 Star course, max 6
Prices -
4 people - £60 each
5 people - £55 each
6 people - £50 each
The BCU 2 Star is a flat, sheltered water award which will develop your foundation skills in both kayak and canoe. Beginning to understand how your body, boat and blade work together is what makes this award such a valuable step on the road to becoming an accomplished paddler. This award is a pre-requisite for any paddler aiming to attend a UKCC Level 1 coach award.
As a guide line, we can’t guarantee as everyone is unique, but if you are relatively new to paddling a 5 day course will give you the fundamental skills and knowledge to be ready for a BCU 2 star assessment.
Successful performance at this level indicates that the paddler can use fundamental paddlesport skills on flat water to control movement of both canoes and kayaks, and have an understanding of how the paddle, boat, and water interact.
2016 Next course - Nothing planned.
